Didn't use to happen only about the last 3 years. They seem healthy except for the brown spots on leaves, but don't last as long as others I see. After they get the spots most turn all brown and die.

Brown spots are a sign of funds from to much moisture.Cut off the infected leaves and spray them down with a fungicide

Thank you. I was going to redo my flower bed soon - should I spray the whole area with the fungicide?

Hi there, the most common cause for brown spots on black-eyed Susans is a fungal disease called Septoria leaf spot which normally infects tomatoes. Use a copper-based fungicide on the plants when the spots emerge and continue treating them on a schedule to prevent infection.
