what is your location? Morning glory is usually planted as seeds.

Where do you live? I live in Washington State (east side) and my Morning Glory grows beautifully and is blooming now. Here it is an annual and I don't trim it. I don't think that it would hurt it to do so, but I would be sure not to trim it to much because the seeds that it puts out will provide the plants for next season. I have had mine for years and every year I have a lovely green vine and beautiful flowers from it. IT was a gift to me from the children that lived next door many years ago so I enjoy it very much!

Yes, just pinch it, and it will pull off, and in the spring it will come back, These are lovely, we truly enjoy them, tho some neighbors do not. Take care, J.

Personally, I would not. I leave most of my perrenials and annuals up through the winter, not only for seeds and habitat for the birds and other critters but also for winter interest. If there is anything left of the plant when I do early spring cleanup, I remove spent leaves, twigs, etc, and cut the wintered plants down to the ground.
