Still working on small projects thanks to the weather! Come see how I repurposed this old front and turned it into a Bakery sign!
I had done a furniture project months ago and had kept the broken drawer front from the project. I always save that stuff for just such and occassion...Well this was it...with it being constantly in the negative temps I have been forced to work on small craft projects in the home...I have always loved those old Bakery signs and thought...Now is the Perfect time to make one......:)

Finished #vintagestyle Bakery sign...in honor of #fattuesday...:)
Recycled Old Dresser drawer front from an old project.
this was the dresser where the top drawer was broken to I tuned the top into a shelf and saved the drawer for another project.
I put on a coat of vintage white paint and let it dry.
I used my silhouette to cut out some contact paper to make a vinyl stencil. I laid it on and started working.
Here I am just using craft paint to paint on my sign.
Getting ready to wax and distress the sign and buff it.
all finished....VINTAGE bakery sign.

Hi you said that you wax the sign. What kind of wax and does this seal it for outdoor use? How do you do the waxing? Annette

I just received a silhouette cameo. I see you made your own stencil. Did you use regular contact paper for this stencil, and did

you remove the backing to adhere to the sign?

This is excellent! I love it! Can you tell me if each of your letters were cut seperately and then you placed them together on the board? I'm dying to try one of these with my silhouette. Thanks so much for posting!

From the wording of the sentence I would say it was cut as a one piece stencil. For me it would be easier to use one already spaced out stencil. Good luck with your project.
