I've been working on this house for a while...the Jack and Jill bath got converted to a just a "jack" and the painting was horrendous for the "Touch up".

Its a dark green color...After a few hours with my handy paint mixer we got a color match that is much better.

In the lower part of the home there is a 1/2 bath that is done in a very dark brown...not my ...»

style but at least now with the new white paint on the doors and trim its not so bad.

YES! My husband's last girlfriend painted his guest bathroom this very dark green! It's really awful, but it does remind him of how happy he is to have me for a wife :)

Hi KMS Woodworks, its amazing what a touch of lighter paint can do for a room. It sounds like you were able to neutralize the dark brown at least a little bit...Also, if you don't feel up to tackling painting the room completely maybe you can hang a piece of art/picture that has light earthtoned colors to give the room a little depth as well as balance out the dark brown.

Hi Regenia, it sounds as if you have tried lots of colors in your masterbath. One suggestion may be to find the focal point of the bathroom as well as your inspiration color and then decorate and design around both of those.

Ex. If you have beautiful window over your garden tub, make that window the focal point of the room by showcasing its features...something as simple as having beautiful tea light candle holder ...»

along the edge of the tub. This will create interest in the tub area and the eyes will then naturally travel up to the window which is the focal point of the room.

Your inspiration color should be a color that inspires you and interests you...you dont have to paint the room this color but perhaps if you like Eggplant as your inspiration color, paint your walls a very light Ostrich grey and accessorise in Eggplant...towels, rugs and any bath decor. Wallpaper is always an option...but paint is much easier to change and much better for resale value. I definitely want to see your pictures when you finish.

Hi CKumelos, Dark green? Well, if you want to change the color with great coverage, try Behr Paint and Primer in one...this stuff is the bomb! I painted over black paint and changed the color to a light, light grey...I was amazed! I am a fan...it really, really works...Please show us your before and after pics if you decide to paint over the green. I

Welcome Tanya! I love your response to Regina. I can find the focal points, or create them outside all day long, but not inside. My master bath does have a great window and I now realize that I have not taken advantage of it and the view. I am going to use your ideas this weekend! I design and install landscapes and I am happy to work with you anytime.

Tonya we had a very small bathroom that was painted dark blue. While I was on vacation my son and his girlfriend repainted it to Orange. I personally would have never selected this color but with the granite countertop and the Satin Nickle fixtures it looks amazing..

Maria, I did a velux skylight in my guest bath when I remodeled. Its great. It took me about a month to stop trying to turn "off" the light every time I walked by.
