I don't know about you, but I LOVE using scented wax in a warmer. Oh Scentsy you get so much money from me. However, all that money and what do you do with the leftover wax?? If you are like me, you think that is really wasted money. So, what can you do with that leftover wax to make you feel better?! I decided, a candle! Emergency candles?! Why not!

This is my favorite wax melt warmer, and some of my Scentsy bars. I use different scents for different times of the year. Now, if you don't use Scentsy wax, you can use whatever brand you like for this project. No, Scentsy didn't sponser this post. I just happen to enjoy their products (no, I don't sell it).

I had to show off my nightlight warmer as well. This one is on pretty much 24/7, while I turn the regular sized warmer off sometimes.

You will need a clean, empty jar and candle wicks. Candles wicks come in a variety of styles and sizes. For this projects, I just used a basic wick with a clip bottom. Just noticed this is a pepperconi jar, made me laugh because I just opened a new jar today when I threw a Mississippi mud roast in crockpot. I'll soon have another empty jar.

Now, I needed to finish off this candle...so here you can see I use an ink pen to keep the wick centered. To start your candle, you will want to put a dab of wax in the bottom and center your wick. Then wrap end of wick around something like a pen, lay that across top of jar, and it will keep that wick centered while adding wax.

Here are two that I have made. If you feel the need, you can start multiple jars and use certain colors in certain order in the jars. You can tell the one on the left was filled during fall/winter by the colors. lol, I love cinnamon and spice scents all fall and winter! I keep the lids and close them when storing. These make wonderful emergency candles, and you get to use up that otherwise wasted wax!! Note: I said it takes 2 months to complete, but it depends on how many warmers you use, and how often you change your wax in them.

Suggested materials:
  • Used warmer wax   (From my warmers lol)
  • Clean, empty jar   (Most likely we ate what was in jar.)
  • Wicks   (Michaels)
