I’m creating lots of quick and easy crafts this season. These cute Dollar Store Candle Ghosts are both inexpensive and super easy to make. I’m looking forward to using them at our Halloween party this year. I prefer my Halloween decor to be fun rather than gory and these will add a touch of whimsy to any Halloween decor. It's a great craft idea to share with your children!

I cut out several different shapes for the eyes and mouths for the ghosts. I used some and discarded ones I didn’t like too much. You could use a template to trace the face if you want to be precise. I was pleased enough with free handing the simple shapes.

I mentioned I was topping the candles with tea lights. While that might seem to be an odd thing to do, there was a reason. Sometimes, dollar store items aren’t up to par. One of the candles had no wick! Of course, I didn’t realize this until after I brought them home. Driving back to the Dollar Tree to exchange a one dollar item didn’t seem to be worth it. So, I improvised with the tea lights that I had previously purchased.

I used hot glue to attach the faces to the candles. I’ve also seen these done by using a sharpie to draw the faces on. I like the look of the foam.

I’ll be displaying these as part of our Halloween decorations when we have a some people over for Halloween. Until then, I get a smile from them whenever I look at them. I think kids would have fun helping to put these together! They could use a sharpie to write their names on them for a personalized look.
