Refurbished Bed Post

This is an old bed post that someone I know gave to me cause I had this bright idea to use it as a decoration piece. The bottom of it was rotted about a foot up, so I cut that off. Being I cut a foot off of it, it was shorter than I wanted it to be for my original idea, however I decided to use it as a towel holder for my bathroom.
I cut a foot off the bottom because It was so rotted. Then I sanded it down. It had some cracks In it from being dry rotted, so I filled the cracks with wood filler. Then I painted It with “Stark White” paint. After it dried, I sanded areas in verious places on it to show the wood color Of the bed post. My final step was applying a couple of coats of Polycrylic.
I bought a hook that was metal with an old glass looking door knob on It and hung it on the old bed post. That is the hook I use to hang a towel on. 
This is the final project that I started with a wooden rotten bed post.
