    If you are just replacing one that is already there you just have to be a bit savvy with plumbing and electricity so you don't get hurt. Agree with Mary that there are tutorials on-line for everything.


    For a new installation, most of what you need will come with the disposal and it's instructions. Drain pipe modification is in the form of a $15 kit from Home Depot. Toughest issue is running an electrical wire and installing the switch in a finished wall. You are on your own there since every house is different.

    Make sure that the unit you purchased will fit under the sink with reasonable access, without having to move any pipes. Also make sure that the connections are long enough to connect to wherever they are going . Is there a dishwasher nearby? The direction of the water flow out of the the DW will have to be considered as well.
