Can I repair my mid-century kitchen sink?

I have a Youngstown Kitchen sink. Unfortunately, a hot skillet was placed in it. Is there any way to repair the discoloration that resulted?

Try white (not gel) toothpaste and a damp cloth. A dab of toothpaste on the cloth and rub in a circular motion. Keep the toothpaste moist.

We're assuming that you have a porcelain steel sink that has not been painted. I've not seen one discolor from a hot pan, but you have what you have. If the toothpaste does not work try Kohler Cast Iron Sink Cleaner. Porcelain finish on your steel sink is the same as that on cast iron.

Thanks for the suggestion! We'll try it after the toothpaste.

Barkeeper's Friend has helped me clean up my white sink more times than I can count.

Thank you! I tried it already, as well as Comet with bleach, and nothing's helped. I'm so mad at myself (or whoever put the skillet there!)
