Use a product called "moss out", which will kill the moss, and possibly any grass as well. You will then need to remove the dead moss (I am assuming there is a lot of moss) and reseed. There are moss-killing products that I believe you can use to keep the moss out of your lawn once you get your lawn re-established.
Apply Lily Miller Moss Out, I use the granules in a spreader, or there is a hose attachment bottle you can spray on. When it turns black, rake it out, and dispose of. Reduce the amount of thatch in your lawn and aerate it.
Moss Out does not kill the grass.
Your soil is likely quite acidic. Soap, baking soda, or lime are basic. You could try a solution to counter the acid. Before I do a thing, I would talk to the county at agent in your area for advice. It is free and they are usually eager to help. https://offices.sc.egov.usda.gov/locator/app?type=mobile
