Nct, you don't have to do a project to join at all. You can join and see the projects others have done and encourage them. Many of us can't do all of the types of projects seen here, but we sure can enjoy the project maker and let them know how we love what they did. Something might even encourage you to try a project - even if you don't put it up.

-go to Email Settings, and Topics I Like

You can click to subscribe to receiving specific emails if you like.

You can unclick at any time to discontinue receiving these emails.

You can still post questions and comments without needing to subscribe to receiving any emails. It is entirely up to you.

You are registered so, you have already joined. If you want to get a daily email to see what others are doing, hold your mouse over the picture next to the bell on the top right. A menu will come up, slide down to Account Settings and click on that. When that page comes up look on the left to Email Settings. Click on that. Choose when you'd like to get an email with some projects. You can also just come here every day (or when you want) and see what projects are on the front page. Clicking on Browse and choosing a topic is another way to find things other people have done. Browse around and have fun!

On the next page, on the left, you'll find email settings. Click on that and decide how often you want to get email that will highlight various projects. Don't worry, you can always change it by repeating the steps to get to same place and change it.
