Repairing vinyl siding

i have white vinyl siding on the exterior of my house. There is a small approx. 3" slit where the water meter reader leaned in it and caused a horizontal slit. Any way I can repair it without replacing the whole section? The house is 9 yrs. old and I think it would be more obvious to replace the whole slat?

I'd try a clear silicone caulk.
You can fill in the slit with caulking-- and you might be able to get a close match in color.
