Re-pot in the next size container with fresh soil, spray the leaves down with horticultural oil, place indoors in a sunny window
No guarantees about creepy crawlies. Just pot up and bring in.............
When I lived in DC area years ago I had a neighbor that kept her Hibiscus in a big pot and would put it into her garage for the winter every year. Just be sure to water it and don’t forget it is there. Bring it back out in the spring and enjoy all summer and into the fall.
If you gave some kind of shed or sheltered area you could put it there too. Another friend kept his potted up and used it as an accent piece in his living room all year round.
I don't know what region you live in, but I live in Region 6 (mid-Atlantic states) and I lost too many similar plants by keeping them outside in the winter months. I would bring them inside.
thanks
thank you Janet! will look for horticultural oil!
