What is the best way to organize a box of old family photos?

I have my husbands,myself plus grown children’s photos piled in a box. Help please!

Start by stacking them by each child then during thanksgiving give each child when leaving a envelope of there child hood memories, this will eliminate and keep a few on hand for you, otherwise they always oh I take them next time, this fixed my same problem 😊
Start by stacking photos of each child in piles, then when thanksgiving dinner ends and all the children are leaving be sure to hand them a envelope of there child hood memories and this will help all those picture boxes and the children will enjoy them with there children and maybe do a picture gallery in there homes.💡
Do you have a scanner? If so, I would preserve them digitally so if anything happens to them, you have the cloud to back them up. Then Barb's idea is great, only after you have saved them.
