DIY Wood Plank Wall

We live in a 1950s ranch home. It had little to no character when we bought it, but we are slowly trying to give it a bit of a style boost. When my husband and I started putting together our second child's nursery, we knew we wanted to do something special.
We decided on a white wood plank wall. First, we bought 3 sheets of 1/4 inch hardwood plywood and cut them into 6 inch planks. We cut the boards with our mitre saw into shorter lengths and laid it out in a varied pattern. The planks were attached to the wall with a nail gun, making sure to lightly sand all the edges of each board as we went. We used a penny to space the boards horizontally and a nickel to space them vertically. It really went quite quickly.
After finishing the wall and filling all the nail holes, we used our spray gun to paint the wall. It was quick and easy after all that dreadful taping!
DIY Wood Plank Wall - an easy way to add character to your home.
Planks were spaced out in a varied pattern to give it a more natural look.
Finishing the nailing of the boards didn't take long. Next, it was on to paint!
White paint gives the room a lot more light.
The wood plank wall is done!

What kind of planks did you use? Do they come in a box? Cost?

This is exactly what we have chosen to do our entire kitchen ceiling (cathedral) and walls. We plan on using Waynes coating, for already done painted and 8x4ft pannels. Hope this saves money and time. However, we might easily do it this way. Our wall has already been dry walled and muded. So glad to see someone else is doing this. I might add our kitchen has a sky lite in it as well. Cupboards are dark with stainless steel appliances and dark sink. Beautifiul contrast. Small kitchen has two large opening windows into dining room and living room to enlarge look. Works great.
