Can laminate floors be painted then sealed ?

if so, what type paint and sealer would work best?

The best thing to do is ask the manufacturer of your laminate.. if you know it or can find out (look on the back of one of the boards...say in a closet... where removing and replacing it won't show)
I have not painted laminate flooring but did paint vinyl flooring in my bathroom and it turned out great. Used Zinzer primer and porch paint and stenciled and sealed it and have had no problems for over a year. Even with a 9 year old showering so you know how much water is on the floor. Good luck.
