Hello Jeannie, Home Improvement stores sell kits for this very thing. You might also be able to get the kits at your local paint store. I have never done this but I have seen pictures of completed projects and they looked great.

Do you want to paint over faux granite or do you want to apply coatings that make it look like granite?

They make kits for this from Rustoleum, Gianni, Transformations, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wX56rLKTdAQ its epoxy paint so use lots of protection, tape and ventilation.

The kits are great! You can go to Home Depot and ask for the options. Rustoleum especially makes great ones.
