What does the ceiling look like after you remove the popcorn? Do you have to do anything to the ceiling afterwards?

Are popcorn ceilings the same world wide, I tried to scape off our bathroom ceiling and all it really did was take the skin off my knuckles so we had to remove and replace it with new gyprock. This stuff is hard like concrete. Do you put something on first to soften it, then scape it off? We have a large lounge room to do as well, it would cost a small fortune to replace.

The picture is a little blurry, is the bag attached with tape?

It doesn't mention that you have to wet the stuff down first, no matter what age the stuff is. They also do a disservice in the last photo, no matter if it has asbestos or not, proper eye protection (which the picture shows) as well as a paper mask should still be worn especially if you have any kind of allergies. It looks way too easy in the photos :) I'm sure that no matter how careful you are, stuff still plops down. That little bag can't hold much either so I hope they have extras. But I can't stress enough, have it tested. We started our house without doing so and it was from the 1950's. Once we learned about it, we still did it ourselves but had on respirators.
