by Maid Green Inc.
You can make your own inexpensive, all-purpose cleaner using three basic, non-toxic ingredients . All you need is water, hydrogen peroxide, and your favorite essential oil. The cleaner can be used for everything from removing build up in your showers, to streak-free mirrors to the lining of your shower curtain and most importantly on the walls and floors of the shower! I keep it pre-mixed in a reused spray bottle for easy access.
The Recipe:
1 Spray Bottle
2 cups Water
1 cup Hydrogen Peroxide
10 drops or ¼ cup Essential Oil of PreferenceMix and adjust to suit your needs.
After showering, use the spray bottle with mixture to disinfect your shower from top to bottom. Layer the shower curtain, shower head, shower faucets, the bases and stalls, shower doors, and shower curtains. Allow solution to sit for 5-8 minutes, then rinse off using cold water.
Hydrogen peroxide is the key to this cleaner. It is a nearly odorless liquid that is commonly used on open wounds and therefore safe to use around pets and children. Hydrogen peroxide has stronger cleaning capabilities than vinegar and works much like bleach, just without any harmful health or environmental effects. The peroxide will break down the scum in the shower and the water helps dilute the mixture. Using your favorite essential oil will leave your shower smelling like an aromatherapy spa!
We recommend a doing this 3-5 times a week. We always look forward to servicing your green cleaning needs!
