Can I add glitter to magnolia Matt paint

I have a lot of magnolia paint to do a three story house hallway and stairs but a friend suggested adding something like glitter just to give it that something different has anyone else tried this with other paint if yes what where the results ??

i bought some glitter like stuff from lowes to add to the very light grey paint in our dark living room. my son in law thought i had lost mind, but we love the results, when the light shines on the wall or ceiling it looks wonderful and does add awesome interest, we all love it xx
Glitter is covered up by the paint. So it won't glitter if you add it to your paint. There are clear shiny paints that have glitter in them.... You could paint over it with that.
I have mixed silver glitter into a 5litre tin of vinyl magnolia before and it turned out been brilliant result but I'm now wondering if I was to mix 3 bags of glitter in red silver and black to a 5litre tin of magnolia vinyl silk would I get the same result
