Goodbye Swiffer Refills, Hello Micro-Fiber Cloths

We have ALL wood and linoleum floors in our home. That means a mop is a must!When my husband and I first got married, I had bought a Swiffer mop with refills - the whole shebang. I always looked forward to using it because that meant I did not have to get down on my hands and knees anymore, wiping up every spot and corner on our floors. But I still wasn't completely satisfied.Why? Because of the price of the refills. Granted a box of mop refills wasn't a budget breaker, but I still struggled spending money on something that I knew I could DO on my hands and knees. I decided to use wet paper towels instead. It was a great alternative; until I once bought cheap paper towels and they rippedevery time I tried to mop. Then I tried a rag - MUCH better! Though it wasn't getting into the grooves of our linoleum, which meant, you guessed it, hands and knees.THEN....I had this clever idea. I had bought a large pack of micro-fiber cloths at a flea market a few years ago. I wasn't sure how or when I was ever going to use the large pack, but it was WAY more cost effective to buy the large pack, than an individual one. I though that since a rag worked on my Swiffer mop, why not try a micro-fiber cloth?
I have never gone back!
It is so simple...
Get the micro-fiber cloth wet with warm winter. Get rid of excess water. If you want to add a cleaning agent, feel free to do so.
Wrap micro-fiber cloth around mop and...
let the cleaning begin!
This has been such a cost-effective alternative and I have never had to buy refill pads again!
PLUS...if you do want to use an alternative to the dry refill pads, just don't add water to the micro fiber cloth; attach it dry. The micro-fiber is GREAT at picking up hair, dirt, and who knows what else!
Now you do not have to feel guilty about using 3 or 4 refills per cleaning session!
Just rinse off the cloth each time it gets overly dirty!
You will enjoy mopping MUCH more with this alternative!

    I have the "scotch" brand and it came with 2 of these from Costco $14.00. I made extras as well (dogs) with the micro fiber towels as well from Costco 36 for $8.00 in the automotive section (each towel will make 2). I have done my windows, bath & kitchen walls, mirrors etc. You name it and I will try microfiber on a stick first. :)
