Can I re-paint a wing back chair with chalk paint

I painted this chair as my first DIY I used a acrylic paint with a cream medium Now I want to change the color to an antique white and give it my son. Is it possible to use chalk paint on top of acrylic paint?

Anyone have any suggestions?

You will have to strip the existing paint for it to adhere correctly
