How do I take care of Calla Lily Bulbs for the winter?

They are planted in about a 12 inch pot. I left them outside last winter and thought they had died, started to throw them away and discovered green on them. We do get a good bit of frost and it usually ices at least once in Jan. or Feb. I also have some begonias, do I need to bring them in for winter?

Gently brush off any remaining dirt. Do not wash the calla lily rhizomes off as this can cause the rhizomes to rot later on. Cut off the foliage from the top of the rhizomes, leaving about 2 to 3 inches of the dead leaves. After this, leave the rhizomes dry in a warm, dry place to dry for four to seven days. After the calla lily rhizomes have dried, place them in a paper bag or wrap them in newspaper. Store them in a cool, dry place, somewhere that stays around 50 F.
