Can a Ficus tree in a 20" pot last outdoors in the winter

I've hauled the tree in every fall and out every spring. Do I need to do this or can I leave it out in the Kansas City winter?

Hi Charlie. I would not keep it outside. I think you are zone 6 and it will not survive the winter outdoors.

If you leave it out in freezing weather you won't need to bring it back in...ever. There are lots of species of ficus but I am not seeing any that are cold hardy. The ficus benjamina doesn't even like strong drafts.
You're gonna have to keep hauling it in and out. I just leave mine inside and try not to move it around a lot, it loses leaves when it's unhappy!
