I don't think it is 'safe' to put a 'food' based product in those modge podge jars - maybe line them - can one modge podge the outside of jar?

Agree absolutely! Any containers have formerly contained glue, oils, or any other petroleum based product should never be re-used for food.

I'm with you. We have enough ingredients in our foods that are unpronounceable and potentially harmful without knowingly adding another.

You can absolutely modge podge the outside of the jars. Definitely the insides are no longer food safe.

  • Mod podge the outside of the jar, not the inside if using for food.

I Mod Podge the outside of jars all the time, WITH spices like cinnamon, mixed w coffee grinds, and seal it after, but I don't put food or spices Inside the jars. I either put nothing (just for show) or I put wax candles or floral type stuff for a cute display, but def nothing edible.

Yeah, I still don’t think it’s safe. What’s in Modge Podge anyway??? I certainly wouldn’t eat anything that was in contact with it.

If you use mod podge then you should not put any edible items in the jars. Use the outside but If I use it on the inside then I put only unedible in it
