What kind of paint do I use to paint my kitchen cabinets

A latex satin finish works well on kitchen cabinets. Certainly you could go for an oil-based finish, but latex is easier to use and dries faster.

I use latex when I painted mine. I would go to a specialist store like Sherman Williams and ask for their advice.

Chalk paint is my favorite- it will save you a bunch of work and look great :)

I use Kilz to prime after light sanding with a palm sander. Wipe with damp cloth to get rid of dust. Best luck with Behr Ultra Brite White Hard Enamel from Home Depot. Any nicks that occur, I use French manicure white enamel polish! In the process of painting cabinets now.

You want to be able to scrub them, so enamel is the best bet. Although people seem to be in love with chalk paint - do not use it for this application - it is not going to be scrubbable. You cannot dismiss the prep work of scrubbing with TSP first to get every trace of grease off - or your paint will peel. Sanding. A good primer - and no the paint with built in primer will not substitute. And enamel paint. This is not the kind of job to cut corners or the amount of work involved. NOTHING makes a kitchen look worse than peeling chipping cabinets.
