Go to gate hinges and handles at the big box stores or go to restorations.com and look at those antique ones
Just like a swinging door, you need handles or doorknobs mounted on each side of the door unless being used for a closet.
I would use a latch. It would fit in with the whole barn door idea.
We ch ages an inside swinging door to a barn door slider . We bought the slider from Home Depot. They also sell a round recessed circle that fits in the hole where the doorknob was. I think that is what you were asking..your question ended abruptly?!
Get a hole saw the size of the door knob hole. Then cut a couple pieces of wood with the hole saw, and find a 1x 1" piece to put in the hole from the door side, and screw one round one each side, then cut off the excess 1x1" piece flush with the door side.
