The drain in my freezer builds up with ice, thus causing water to over and leak down into my refrigerator. What is causing this and how can it be prevented?

Its clogged, I've done this on my friends freezer. You have to turn it off, and put the food somewhere else. Then put some absorbent car sponge or rags to wring out on the bottom. Now take you turkey baster and the hottest soap water (like lemon ammonia) and squirt it into the drain hole until it goes down easily. You can use a pipe cleaner if needed. Then just squirt some air into the drain with an empty baster. Then pour some alcohol in the drain and leave. Turn everything back on.

that caoutchou thing might be full off dust. Just unglog it and that's it.

My refrigerator had the same problem while still under warranty. The repairman said the drain tube was clogged with what appeared to be plastic shavings. After he cleaned out the drain tube we never had another issue. If you can't get to the drain tube to clean it the money for a repair person will be well spent.
