Can you paint over wall paper

    Yes you can but first check that the wall paper is solid and will not peel or any areas that are coming off. I always take my old wall paper off so as to not run into any problems

    I wouldn't. There's always the chance of the wallpaper bubbling and/or peeling. Also would hard to remove in the future.

    The previous owners of my home painted over wallpaper and what a mess removing the paper. I say NO.

    To actually paint OVER wallpaper, you first need to get a highly penetrating primer to 'glue' the paper securely to the wall. No loose edges on paper and heavy long drying coat over the paper.

    No Do NOT do it.... It may not be your home at that point, but someone will be cussing at you in years to come. I had to remove 1950's wallpaper with about 5 coats of paint on it. Only was on top half of a dining room wall - but worse THREE days I can remember in home fix up history. Little room - 3 days to remove.....
