Please join me in my kitchen for a vintage treat of lemonade served in tulip jelly jar glasses and lemon filled cookies .... Oh my! For this display I stuck with a color scheme of ...you guessed it.... Yellow and Green!
I found these vintage jelly jar glasses at a local flea market. They are called this because they literally are jelly jars that people would recycle into glasses because they were so pretty.
I used twine to hand this vintage gingham apron and embroidered tea towel . A vintage kitchen would have several "tea towels" like this one that would have the days of the week embroidered on them. They are originally made out of feed sacks. An a vintage woman would always be wearing an apron at home to cover her clothing from getting dirty while she did house work or gardening. Gingham is the checkered like print that is used on this apron and was very popular.
I displayed these Lemon filled cookies on my vintage Texas ware plate. This is similar to what would normally be served for a little afternoon vintage gathering.
This is a close up of the jelly jar glasses. I thought the tulip design was perfect for Spring. I cut lemon wedges and garnished the lemonade filled glasses.
