Have you Googled yet?
These lighted window projects usually involve battery operated lights, which are expensive to operate as they go through batteries like water. If rechargeable batteries are used, then they must be in a postion where they are accessible for easy removing and recharging.
If you are considering using electrical lights instead, use the LED strings as they emit the least amount of heat. Light bulbs behind any kind of flamible screen, or covering could be a fire hazard.
With the electrical lights, make sure that there is an electrical plug in close enough to allow the lights to be plugged in. I would caution you against using an extension chord in a hallway, as it will interfere with vacuuming, and might also be a tripping accident waiting to happen.
