cover with a Cardboard box or a Canvas piece of art....
Eye of the beholder kind of situation. You could build an open front and back cabinet around the TV.
Start by taking it down and caulk the holes then paint it.
Take down and fill holes
A couple ideas:
1. Cheap and easy: Hang a fake curtain behind the TV with a curtain rod just a couple inches extra in width and match the height of the room's other curtains.
2. Get a piece of thin panel board, cut in two and cut out the back of the tv holder that holds the TV to the wall and push back together, making it taller and wider than the TV so that it frames it. Decorate the board: Stain it, paint it, hang a few pictures or canvas, small shelves, cover in corkboard and pin up pics. You should get the idea. You could even use a large piece of cardboard and cover in burlap or fabric to match pillows in the room and use a staple gun to hold onto the wall.
