How can I get rid of azalea bushes

no matter how deep or wide I dig them out, they always come back.

    when you dig you leave roots in the soil. if you can get a vehicle close to bush, tie a rope or chain as close to the ground as possible and pull the bush out of the ground. worked for me with bushes that had been in the ground for 25 years.

    (Lucky you!) Persistence kills any plant. Eventually.

    They are related to Rhododendrons, which show damage up to 2 years after the cause (dry branches 2 yrs after drought, for example).

    almost any tree can be killed by copper! Use copper or brass nails, and tack them into remaining stumps.

    Roundup is good if you can tolerate NOTHING growing there for a few Years!

    Pot up the small ones and sell or give them away.........Weed Killer for Brush!

    Roundup brushed on the fresh cut ends. That will take it into the roots only, it may take doing this to each time a shoot is sent up from another spot. Roundup does not last for years, read the back of the label, you can plant within a short time. It only affects what it is put on, that is why if you paint it on it will not affect the soil.

    Overwater them. Really drown them. I did this, accidentally, thinking I was doing what it needed, and it soon died.
