Spring Home Maintenance Checklist

Spring is just around the corner so it is time to get your home ready for the temperature swing with the following checklist.
Air Conditioner - clean heat exchangers, inspect refrigerant lines, and check pressure (professional only)
Windows - Check caulking seal for cracks
Doors - Inspect weatherstripping
Masonry - Look for cracks
Sump Pump - Clean out the sump bucket and test the pump with a bucket of water
Lawn - Clear away debris and make sure the lawnmower is ready to go
Sprinkler System - Prime system and make sure sprinkler heads aren't blocked
Gutters - Remove debris and clean the downspout strainers
Roof - Look for damaged shingles

Dust, grass, and other debris often inhibits the condenser's heat exchanger.
Most leaves should have been removed during the fall but more debris will find its way into the gutters during the winter.
Be ready to care for your lawn.
Water that freezes in tiny cracks with expand the damage.
Ice dam can cause a lot of damage to shingles.
