Chest of Drawers Gets Old World Makeover With Stencil, Crackle Finish

I've been wanting to use a stencil for a furniture makeover for a while now and decided to try it on this piece we've had for several years. I was going for an old world, artisan finish and used crackle medium and dark wax along with the stencil from Royal Design Studio to get that look. The project didn't go exactly as planned, but I love the end result! Visit the blog post for the details and instructions for this finish. http://bit.ly/1fXtrNi
The finished piece. I think it ended up with the old world look I was hoping for.
I used a large damask stencil from Royal Design Studio for the design.
This wasn't part of the plan.
A closeup of the old world details.
