I'm a huge basket hoarder. I found this basket at Goodwill for $5.95. A couple of weeks later while browsing through IKEA I spotted the perfect basket..I wanted it! Then I remember I had recently got a basket that had similar bones as the IKEA. So I got to work replicated the IKEA basket.
This was a project that me and my five year old worked on...where I actually let her take control. It isn't perfect but I love how it turned out! More deets and how to on the blog!

DIY Ikea Inspired Basket.
DIY Ikea Inspired Basket. It was a small savings of $10.00 to make my own version.
Side by side of the IKEA basket and my IKEA Inspired Basket
Step 1. Pick a basket and tape
Step 2. Choose a color and paint. We used a cheap brush and foam brush
Step 3. Let paint dry and then remove tape

Very pretty. I like the one you did yourself than the IKEA one. Besides, you can pick colors that go with your home.
