How To Make Fish Fertilizer

My grandpa used to spray his raspberries with a fish fertilizer that he made. This was in Michigan, so the fish had to be fresh water. I have only found information using salt water fish. Does anyone know how to make fish fertilizer from fresh water fish?

Used fish fertilizer years ago, all I remember is that it smelled horrible! The story was that the Indians used to plant a fish under the seed when they planted. Don't know how accurate this is.

Don't know anything about making it. I've purchased JERRY BAKER'S FISH FERTILIZER in the past.

I used Jerry Baker's fertilizer and it smelled horrible, so when I got a fish tank I just used the dirty fish water for the plants and it worked great. I had roses and lilies throughout winter.

I used to go fishing with my grandpa in Lake St. Clair (MI). When we cleaned the fish we would bury the remains between the roses and other plants. I still do this 50 yrs. later. Didn't know at the time how 'organic' we were. My raspberries at the cottage get this every spring. It sure beats using my Vita-mix and pureeing with water.
