I just moved a few hydrangeas and so far they are doing great. I think as long as the ground hasn’t frozen and there is no chance of frost for a good week it should be ok! Im in R.I. I would look at your weather forecast though!
If at worst you must leave it to place - brace all the branches so snow and ice do not break them. The wood is most brittle.
If you think it won't survive winter, then you don't have anything to lose However, I bet it will do fine! I'd just mulch it well and make sure to water well until the ground freezes.
