Kitchen light redo

I would like to redo this light without replacing it. Two of my main objectives are to add molding around it and some way to cut down on the glare. Any suggestions would be awesome as I haven't been able to find any ideas on the Internet. Thanks! ;@)

  • You can use a plastic film that is often used on windows to block people from looking in. This film will defuse the light more then just the plastic cover that is installed. Installing any frame around the light will improve its look, but it may make it hard to remove plastic cover to change bulbs which will stop working as soon as you finish the product. Still another way is to construct a wood frame around the light fixture that will also hold a new flat light cover in place. This will hide the entire fixture and give it another new look all together. They sell these fixtures at the big box stores already made, check them out and build your own for a fraction of the cost and without having to do all the electrical all over again.

I think that is an awesome idea of just building a box around current fixture! Thank you ;@)
