Remade My Headboard

I had a pleather sleigh bed that my cats took a liking to and not in a good way. They used it as a scratching post ! I removed the foot board and sides and reupholstered the headboard. I used 2 of the side pieces to make the "wings" and screwed them to the side of the old head board and Ta Da , there you have it, a contemporary twist to a traditional bed. I am going to re upholster the foot board and use it in the guest room as a headboard.
This is what my bed looked like before the cats tore it up.
After I reupholstered the headboard and added the "Wings".

I just had to comment about this...My poor hubs surprised me with a real heavy duty--unfortunately expensive beige love seat and couch. I did not know how my cats would react to it. They had never attacked any of my furniture before. They literally tore pieces out of the leather and what they couldn't tear up, they peed on.....Sleeping on it to kind of "guard it" didn't work either/-(
