Happy St. Patrick's Day With Purple Shamrocks!

I was so happy to find purple shamrocks the other day from Two Hoots Flowers and Gifts at the show this past Saturday! This Shamrock variety is called Oxalis Trangularis, it has purple leaves and tiny purple flowers that close at dusk and open during the day. It likes bright light and full sun and it loves moderately dry soil... A perfect addition to our Living Ledges. Happy St. Patrick's Day and Happy Birthday to our Niece Brynn Mallory and to my handsome brother Billy! Hope you all have a wonderfully green and purple day! www.livingledge.com

My favorite! I have one I've kept alive for about 12 years! So proud of myself. But seriously - I love purple shamrocks. Speaking of which - I better go water it!

One of my favs, but there are so many others, some with heart shaped leaves, burgundy leaves with yellow flowers, green with white flowers, iron cross... (P.S. also from JCNY)
