Antique Dresser Upcycle

Medium
Someone gave us a beautiful antique dresser, in need of repair, we spent a few...more than a few hours, rebuilding, painting and a whole new look emerged. Sometimes an old piece can't be saved or restored, this is a case for paint
Finsihed! Here is the after, painted in Annie Sloan Versailles, waxed and hand painted using the template from The Graphics Fairy.

The before, beautiful! But...missing a key drawer, damaged laminate, missing hardware, minor wood trim and very shaky!
Some of the laminate damage up close, Using a putty knife and a heat gun, the laminate was removed from one drawer completely.
Removal of the only small drawer, fabricating a matching drawer would have been too advanced for our wood skills, we elected to save it for another project, along with the first large drawer, creating a pocket for a basket or blanket.
New pocket area along with grain sack striping on top
The back, I washed with a thin layer of paint, preserving any marks or numbers. This preserves the wood for dating and history, yet helps to present better. I also lined the drawers with old sheet music
Finished!!

I got them from The Graphics Fairy online, she has free printables, then I blow up the image on blockposters.com. I transfer by tracing with carbon paper and then paint.
