Matrix Cabinets. They get them to you fast. But you have to have them installed. If your not able to do this yourself, give Lowes a call for cabinet installer phone # in your area. This company has fantastic cabinets and unbelievable prices. I priced my job out at Lowes it would have been about $35,000. At Matrix it was a little over $6,000 but that included at lot of extras for my laundry and pantry rooms.

In VA where we live, we love the Habitat for Humanity ReStore! They have gently used items like cabinets, toilets, faucets, etc. You could easily sand and paint a set of cabinets if you don't like the finish. Their prices are really affordable (you could probably get an entire kitchen worth of cabinets for under $200). Here is the link for CA ReStores: http://www.habitat.org/restores/directory/ca

I see you live in Sacremento, so I'd say check out IKEA. I've heard they are very reasonable, though I've never compared them to other cabinets.

check your local thrift stores . My friend used chest of drawers and night tables and a bathroom vanity until she could afford to put in cabinets . Also check salvage yards
  • Are you existing cabinets ruined? not useable? If you have black mold, then you should not be in the home. Black mold is very toxic and since you are pregnant you should not even be breathing the air. Any mold is especially bad for a pregnant woman and children so you need to find out what kind of mold it is and take care of it. If the cabinets have mold on the surface and no visible water damage, then I would see about cleaning them and sealing them with an oil based primer and then painting them. Or better yet, taking them completely out and working with them in the fresh air while you eliminate the mold in the kitchen -since you will have to cut out any mold that has grown on the drywall. You cannot just seal up mold, it has to be killed first. Good luck
