Hole in the wall entrance
Hello, I have this hole in the wall of the main entrance of my house and do not know what I can do?
You can add some nice brown wicker baskets on the bottom shelves as well as a colorful pillow for the bench.
You might even consider giving the whole thing a paint job. Maybe a nice gray color?
I bet when you hang coats and hats and put shoes, boots, etc. on the shelves you won't even notice the coat rack. It can end up looking too cluttered with too much decorating.
Patterned Mustard Cushion Pad on Seat, May be Yellow Knops on Hangers, or maybe paint the wall Mustard.
I would paint it a coordinating color so the piece blends in the rest of the room
How about some dried grapevines? And maybe some kind of fake flowers? https://i.pinimg.com/736x/d1/91/6d/d1916d7c4d1171256c044e0eb41eea8a.jpg
It doesn't look too bad over all but with the black mirror it just makes the whole space look dark. I would start with some light colored baskets for storage and a nice seat cushion. Have you considered painting the mirror frame. If that is not an option you can hang some light colored scarves on the mirror to soften the look. Another option is to add a floor lamp if there is a plug to brighten the space. Good luck.
I like the idea of putting baskets for storage underneath, a seat cushion. I would also suggest adding a splash of color at the large rectangle blank space. I know it sits away from wall, but attach a board (maybe even foam board)covered in fabric or wallpaper to add a pop of color. In the smaller rectangle area at the top you may be able to get frames to hold pictures across (3 or 4). It would just add more interest. :)
Agree, put some shoes and coats up and it won't be so annoying to look at. If you happen to have nice hats, scarves and the like show one or two off here, maybe a seasonal color would be nice. Definitely use shallow baskets so the shoes won't look so messy. The faux drawers made by doing that keeps shoes from getting shoved to the back and lost as well as making the area tidy.
Doesn't look very stable? You might want to locate a stud or two and fasten this to the wall or it really will be a thorn in your side!
Hi there! I would add white pannelling behind and add some baskets and a seating cushion. You can find matching/assorted fabrics in most fabric stores and if you don't sew, they often offer that kind of services.
Something like that :
I think it is quite nice and not hideous at all, would love somthing like this in my home. You just need to style it attractively and then you will love having that area and convenience.

And maybe add a few cool hats above the piece picking up your colors.
