Renewing Vintage Hardware With Silver Leaf

Hardware is the jewelry on furniture, the sparkle, the finishing touch. Sadly, on vintage pieces, its often in pretty sad shape. Use silver leaf to give an authentic and durable finish to vingtage hardware. It's super-easy!
Vintage Hardware renewed with Silverleaf
Tacky brass and painted vintage hardware. These need help!
A package of silver leaf, leaf adhesive, and brush and towel are all that's needed to fix it!
Coat the hardware with leaf adhesive and let dry
Apply silver leaf to the hardware.
Burnish the piece to seal the leaf to the adhesive. Looking better!
"Glaze" the hardware by painting it black, then wiping off with a damp cloth. Seal with clear coat.
Renewed (and really pretty) silver leafed vintage hardware. Wasn't that easy?
