Simple and Safe Home Cleaning Tips

Keeping the house clean is a necessity for a healthy living environment, but it more often than not takes up a lot more time and resources than what we would usually have to offer. To deal with those problems, there are quite a few tricks that you can use to save yourself both time and effort in taking care of your home. However, people usually end up doing just the opposite - to compensate for the time that they will have to spend cleaning, they rarely do enough research and they just blindly buy the next hyped up cleaning product on the market, wasting more time.
This leads to quite a few problems.
Usually, the hyped up products are the ones that people would otherwise watch out for the most. The more effort and resources companies spend on advertising their product, the more likely it is that it's not the next best thing after sliced bread. More often than not, those products prove to be hazardous not only to the environment, but to your household pets or in some cases can even end up causing problems for you and your family. To deal with this, you should not only dedicate a good portion of your free time to research about any cleaning product that you are thinking about using, but you might also want to look into some of the older, DIY cleaning recipes. Not only are they pretty safe for you and the environment, but they also allow you to save a lot of money at the cost of a bit of time spent on research.
Before all of the major brands and popular products flooded the market, people were still quite capable of dealing with spills, dirt, dust and so on. Obviously, the commercial cleaners make everything much faster and easier, but again, more often than not, they are not great for you or for the environment.
So what is the solution to these chemical-filled cleaning products? Two of the most common DIY cleaning ingredients - baking soda and vinegar, have become a huge hit. They can easily deal with most of the common household situations, but there are of course exceptions that will require more complicated solutions.
Vinegar - Vinegar is easily one of the most widely used ingredients in the homemade cleaning solutions and can solve many household problems. You can use it to clean the sink drain, oven, microwave, dishwasher and most other home appliances. It can deal with the glassware, lime deposits, stains and will even aid in shining the bathroom. One downside to cleaning with vinegar is the leftover smell, but it eventually dissipates.
Baking soda - This is the second most common cleaning solution used in DIY recipes, as it has great cleaning power and is generally easy to use. It can be used to remove stains, cut through grease, polish, deodorize and sanitize pretty much any surface. Most of the baking soda cleaning approaches involve a bucket of water, a cleaning cloth or rag and a bit of soda - plain and simple.
Of course there are many more advanced cleaning methods that you can use to deal with even the most stubborn of stains and spills without having to use a commercial cleaner.
When it comes down to it...
Going to the store and grabbing the first popular commercial solution that you come across is quick and easy, but is it really the better choice?
