What type of glue is everyone using for their craft projects?

I have used E6000 for most of my projects because it seemed to hold better then hot glue. Lately things that I have made with it are not staying together. I'd like to get some suggestions on other glues to try. Thanks!

  • E6000 is usually my 'go-to' glue, but I've heard good things about Gorilla Glue. You might want to give it a try!

  • I use a fast set e6000 for some things and Aileen's thicktacky craft glue for other things.

Definitely try gorilla then. I have heard it is best to use GE Clear Gutter Silicon II for outside projects like gazing balls.

For paper, I use spray adhesive. It adheres quickly and you can smooth any wrinkles out before it dries. With some types you can even move things around if you want to after it dries.

Thank you! I’ve never tried the spray adhesive.

I love “Glass Bond”. It does an amazing job. My E6000 now does the same thing.

I have been using Gorilla Gel Glue and really pleased with it. Have not tried it on outside items, so not sure about heat/cold/rain.

Could the age of the glue make a difference? Like if its been open for over a year or six?

No. I had recently bought it and used it for something else.

I have used jewelry glue for a lot of crafty and non-crafty things. Also use glass glue for crafts alot, too. Always read about the glue, what it holds and works well with. Happy crafting!

Sue, spray adhesive is SOOOOO great for paper projects since you can smooth EVERY wrinkle out and the edges lay perfectly flat and stay that way. Once you try it you "never go back" :) And one can goes a long way! This is the best glue for kids' school presentation projects like the kind you put on foam core board!
