Just sprinkle baking soda on the surface of the cutting board, then work it into the surface stains with a lemon (which also makes the board smell amazing, by the way) or a gentle sponge or wash cloth. Rinse the boardand dry it with a towel.

If I need to, like after cutting chicken, I just put some bleach on it then rinse. I always scrub mine, then air dry after every use. It never seems to need much more attention then.

I do love the wood boards too, but I decided for now to purchase a cheap glass board, then I bought those plastic cutting pads that bend, to put over the glass, while chopping my food. I didn't think I'd really like them but I do, because whatever I chop, I can easily bend the plastic to use like a funnel or scoop to put in my hot pan or pot without spilling and they are very light-weight . And dishwasher safe.... The old wood boards got too yucky so they ended up being wall-art projects...

Hi there, handwash the cutting board in hot water and mild dish soap. Allow it to air dry completely before rubbing in mineral oil or a beeswax compound. Don't use cooking or olive oil, it will go rancid and attract bacteria.
