You don't state your location but if you are in a cold winter location, you should get them planted now. They will come up at the time that's right for them. It depends more on weather and ground situations then on when you plant them.

    Hope that helps.

Flower bulbs planted now should do well, although they may not make your deadline to wait until June 1. In warmer areas you can plant summer blooming tulips in early spring, rather than fall. Perennial Tulips that do well, such as Negrita, Shirley, and Ballerina would be what I would plant.

Most of the tulips that I have seen growing... come up in March or April even if there is snow still on the ground.

Check with a local trusted green house to see if they know of later blooming tulips. Even here in SE Minnesota the tulips come up well before June.

The latest blooming tulips I know of bloom in May. Look at some bulb sites online and see if there are any you like, but it may be too late to order now.
