DIYnetwork.com or HGTV.com can give you ideas and how to get started... but you will probably need to clean them well with TSP to start... then they will need to be sanded at least a little (taking the doors off and drawers out will make this easier) then a good primer and paint... There are companies that will come in and spray them for you if you are willing to pay the cost.

While the doors and drawers are out.. is a good time to clean out and paint the inside of the cabinets (a fun color if you want or dare). Some of the doors could also be converted to glass doors as an option, and this would be the time to do it.

When/If you remove the doors and drawers... use blue tape and label each door and cupboard (a,a... b,b etc.) that way each door and drawer goes back where it came from (correct fit)

This is a good time to add, omit, or change hardware too.

Make sure they are clean and dry. Remove the doors and hardware. Mark the doors and cabinets with tape where they go. Lightly sand the doors and cabinets to remove any gloss and roughen the surface for paint with 120- to 220-grit sandpaper. Use a tack cloth or damp rag to remove dust after sanding. Prime with a stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123, KILZ,or BIN and have it tinted to the color of the top coat. This will prevent dark or stained surfaces from showing through the top coat. Acrylic, or water-base, paints are low-fume and clean up easily with water. Alkyd, or oil-base, paints require good ventilation because the paint contains solvents that can irritate your lungs and make you feel sick. Alkyd options require mineral spirits for cleanup, but they provide a hard, durable paint finish. Whichever you use, buy the best-quality paint you can afford for a lasting kitchen cabinet finish. Seal with at least three coats with a water based polyurethane. Use a small foam roller and foam brush for a smooth finish.

For best results you will need a paint sprayer, and use an oil dashed primer and oil based Acrylic paint. And the proper air filter mask. Proper surface preparation is the key to best results. First use a degreaser and clean all surfaces that will be painted, next sand all surfaces that will be painted first with 80gt then 100gt then 000 stell wool, using denatured alcohol wipe down all surfaces .

Next make sure your work surfaces are free of dust, the last thing you want to do is start spraying and blow dust over your work, start applying primer to the surfaces, 2 thin coats are better than one heavy coat. Allow each application to dry before applying the next coat. Once the 2nd coat is fully dried, give it all a lite sanding and wipe down once more w/ denatured alcohol, now start applying your first coat of white Acrylic allow the first coat to dry, sand lightl w/ 0000 stell wool wipe down w/ denatured alcohol and apply final coat. If you cause a paint run allow the peice to fully dry then sand out the run w 120gt and repaint once more.
